The 11-person group was established by Land Information NZ in 2018 to provide advice on the management of 1.2 million hectares of Crown pastoral lease land in the South Island.

Seven new members have been appointed to replace those retiring having reached the end of their two-year term.

The new appointees are: high country farmers Jim Greenslade, Tom Pinckney and Kerry Harmer; farmer and land management adviser Donna Field; Fish & Game chair Ray Grubb; Environmental Defence Society lawyer Cordelia Woodhouse; and ecologist Professor Bill Lee.

They join returning members landscape architect Di Lucas, leaseholder Jonathan Wallis and Forest & Bird conservation advocate Jen Miller.

Ngai Tahu’s permanent representative is Matthew Matahaere.
