It was a cold day at the Frankton dairy-beef weaner fair last Thursday. There was a decent number of buyers present, however values were well below year-ago levels. Autumn-born Belgian Blue-cross steers were a highlight as most weighed 157kg and reached $690. It was tough going in the heifer pens with some light weights, however those above 100kg made $290-$390.
