Just under 200 prime cattle were available at Feilding last Monday, of which more than three-quarters were dairy cows. In-calf cows continued to command a premium of 25-30c/kg on the rest, with in-calf lines mostly $2.46-$2.63/kg, whereas $2.15-$2.30/kg was normal for the rest. One 620kg Hereford bull was $2.75/kg.

It was a quiet day for lambs and ewes. Standard prime lambs were $181-$202, though quite a few were more “forward-store” types, making $159.50-$171. Good quality meant the larger lines of ewes were all above $140.
