Steers were the standout at Canterbury Park last Tuesday and they contributed 89 of the 136 cattle yarded. Those 500kg plus generally fetched $2.45-$2.57/kg. The heifer section was lower in quality and 400-500kg were priced at $2.20-$2.31/kg. Prime lambs reached $187 while heavy pens managed $163-$178 and the balance, $105-$155. The top performing ewes were heavy pens that made $165-$205 while the balance made $89-$160. Store lamb numbers were low and a range of $70 to $108 covered most. Read more in your LivestockEye.
