The average advance milk price in July was calculated at €30.84/100kg standard milk. This is €0.20 above the previous month, but a 20.5% decline on the July 2014 milk price, down by €7.93.

The small monthly increase seen for July is the first upward trend seen since June 2014. The monthly milk price review published by LTO Nederland and conducted by ZuivelNL in conjunction with European Dairy Farmers said the increase is entirely due to the higher French milk prices and a seasonal adjustment by Dairy Crest.

The review said that behind the normal milk price leaders Finland Hameenlinnnan Osuusmeijeri and the Italian Granarolo, Danone (€37.76) and British Dairy Crest (€35.26). Dairy Crest's increase was due to the expiration of the seasonal levy but Danone's milk price increased by €4.7 compared to the previous month and they are much higher than other calculated milk prices for July.

While price cuts have been announced for August, Arla Foods and FrieslandCampina have held their milk prices for September.
