Tasmania expanded production by 10.1%. But it was Victoria that accounted for the majority of the growth in absolute terms. In percentage terms Victoria's milk production grew by just 1.9%. But as Victoria produced 66.3% of total milk output a small change in percentage terms equates to a lot of extra milk.

Eastern Victoria posted growth of 5.4% across the season. In northern Victoria production was up 1.8%. But western Victoria was plagued by poor weather which resulted in a drop in output of 1.1% across the season.
