A consistent performer

A 163ha dairy farm in the Waikato that is a consistent performer with all the infrastructure in place is for sale by auction.
Reading Time: < 1 minute

The farm at Huntly produces about 120,000kg milksolids from 380 cows on land stretched over 75ha of flats and 88ha of rolling to medium hill. Another 3ha is not effective grazing land. The farm is arranged into 84 paddocks and well-raced to the 40-aside herringbone dairy. Effluent from the dairy is irrigated over 39ha.

Mark Dawe from Bayleys Waikato described it as a well-maintained property with a strong fertiliser history and a good water supply.

"The property is in an affordable location and its scale, infrastructure, improvements, and proven performance make it a great opportunity.

"The land and infrastructure allows for herd and production upside or to scale back with all the young stock kept on the farm."

Good farm shedding makes up part of that infrastructure, along with a feedpad. Extra feed includes about 10ha of maize grown on the farm and grass supplements, with 200 tonnes of palm kernel bought in to be fed out on the feedpad.

Accommodation on the farm is a comfortable three-bedroom brick home with a one-bedroom self-contained sleepout.

Dawe said the vendors had already bought another property, so this farm would be sold. It will be auctioned on November 6. For further information contact Dawe on 07 834 3839 or 027 507 0861.
