Most were cull dairy heifers and cows, and manufacturing prices softened, while export types held. Friesian heifers, 529-542kg, made $2.50-$2.60/kg, though other lines fell under the $2/kg mark. High-yielding heifers sold to $2.70-$2.81/kg, better steers $2.80-$2.84/kg.

The cow pens were split between Friesian and Friesian-cross, and Jersey and Jersey-cross, with the top end of both types earning $1.68-$1.76/kg. Prices for lesser types eased to $1.56-$1.66/kg.

Sheep numbers dropped to their lowest level in some time, and prices reflected limited interest in hoggets. Merino ewe hoggets fetched $63-$92, mixed-sex crossbred $73-$90. Prime hoggets mainly traded at $101-$129. Most ewes sold for $60-$69, with a small top end at $81-$99. One line of woolly ewes with lambs at foot made $74.
