However, prices backed off recent levels as a result of downward pressure on schedules.

All the steers, ranging from 350 to 690kg, sold within close cpk at $2.61-$2.66/kg.

Most heifers earned $2.65-$2.76/kg, while very good heavy Angus, 581-626kg, returned top price of $2.81-$2.82/kg.

Most of the cows fetched $1.86-$1.92/kg.

A smaller but very good quality prime ewe offering met a good spread of buyers and sold to solid levels. Most of the yarding were top ewes that returned $80-$90, medium to good $70-$79, medium to light $60.50-$69.

Prime lamb numbers jumped to more than 1400, the largest yarding in some time. Lambs sold on a firm market with the top line to $142. Most male lambs sold for $128.50-$139. Most ewe lambs earned $124-$128, with the heaviest lines $130-$132.
