There were no steers, and the top two Hereford-Friesian heifers, 480-600kg, sold for $1291-$1614, $2.69/kg.

There were 40 cows, and lighter types firmed on low numbers. Friesian cows, 610-630kg, earned$1.89-$1.90/kg, Friesian & Friesian-cross, 505-577kg, $1.80-$1.87/kg. Three good Angus, 557kg, sold to a top of $2/kg.

The heavier of the two prime bulls, a Charolais, 610kg, fetched $2.60/kg.

A large yarding of prime lambs meant some of the bigger buyers left the market earlier, and in turn prices eased by up to $5 across most weights. Top price was $148.50 for 26 male lambs, compared with $151 at the last sale. Store lamb prices also eased.

Prime ewes were generally steady on the previous week. Most were medium ewes that returned $59-$85, with some lines very woolly. Top ewes traded at $84-$101.

A good number of Friesian and Hereford-Friesian calves made for a bigger yarding at Manfeild Park on Monday, with about 440 yarded. The market was generally steady, with one keen buyer paying up to $350 for a Hereford-Friesian bull calf. Good Friesian bulls made $180-$240, Hereford-Friesian bulls $285-$350.
