Most of the action at Charlton on Thursday was in the store lamb pens, and prices firmed on good demand, Ross McKee from PGG Wrightson reported.

Top store lambs earned $100-$107, medium $90-$98, light $75-$85. Ewes with lambs at foot also sold very well at $73-$75.

Prime sheep took a back seat to the store offering with numbers very low. Prices were steady with heavy lambs at $115-$120, second cuts $105-$112, third $90-$100. Ewe prices also reflected the low numbers and solid demand. Heavy lines fetched $88-$95, medium $75-$82, light $60-$70. Two-tooths returned $92, rams $50.
