This high-quality range of Italian-engineered mixers is exciting news for the NZ market.
On a visit here, Zago marketing managing Alberto Zago said the time was right to supply the Italian mixers in NZ.
"We are very committed to this part of the world – our product is absolutely first class and we see great potential for growth here," he says.
“We are a specialist manufacturer to the mixer wagon industry, building nothing but mixer wagons.”
The company was formed by Alberto’s father Lino Zago 40 years ago.
Lino is still head of the family-run company which employs his three sons and daughter, and another 60 employees.
Zago makes a range of feed mixer models, both vertical and horizontal, animal feed, and composting/recycling.
The Zago King series horizontal mixer with the patented Free Flow Mix uses four augers.
Alberto says the quality and cut of the mix delivered to the stock is crucial because it determines the return to the farmer.
“We work very closely with the leading Italian University of Bologna, which is the oldest university in Europe, as it was founded in 1088. A researching team was built in 2007 where its, and Zago’s, goal was to improve Zago’s feed mixers and give new breeding solutions with a scientific basis.”
Agtek has appointed Trent Agent, who is also an animal nutritionist, as specialist mixer wagon product manager.
