The property in Orini Road, an easy 15km drive west of Whakatane, 80km from Rotorua and 90km east of Tauranga, boasts well-developed infrastructure.

“This rectangular dairy unit is recognised as a quality farm which has milked 460-500 cows with a three-year average production of 164,175kg milksolids,” Simon Anderson of Bayleys Country said.

“The sale of the farm includes 186,140 Fonterra shares and stock is available to purchase as part of the tender process.”

The property with flat contour is held in two titles.

“The farm is well subdivided and more than adequate for a 500-cow operation,” Anderson said.

“This year 460 cows are being milked. The lower stocking rate has enabled a bank of grass silage to be carried through and used if needed.”

The eight-year old, 40-aside herringbone dairy with Milfos plant is accessed by a network of formed races and bore water for stock is reticulated around the farm by 30mm and 40mm mainlines. Whey from the local dairy factory is used on more than 70% of the pastures, bringing nutrient benefit and savings in the farm budget.

Improvements include a feedpad next to the dairy which holds 300 cows, several haysheds and implement storage sheds around the farm, a purpose-built tunnel shed and a half-round shed for calf-rearing.

There are three tidy homes including a four-bedroom homestead in established grounds, a farm manager’s dwelling, and a third home. The rural service centre of Edgecumbe, which provides all farm services, is 6km away.

Tenders close on February 27. For further information contact Anderson on 07 571 4674 or 027 255 5523. View online at www.bayleys.co.nz.
