Water system a hot ticket

Avatar photo
Kaipara dairy farmers Bruce and Rosie Sanford were frustrated by not having enough hot water to complete their plant wash and clean up calf feeders at the end of milking to the standards they wanted.
Reading Time: < 1 minute

Their electric cylinder had pretty much completed its life cycle and needed to be replaced.

“We were thinking of getting two cylinders to get that extra water we required but then we came across Longveld’s dairy hot water system,” Bruce says.

“The system has everything we need – a 400-litre cylinder, 600l dump tank for plant wash, instant hot water at 55C for vet or staff hand washing, and it only takes 35 minutes to heat water to 80C for plant wash.

“Best of all it is gas heated, which is way cheaper than electricity.

“Our annual electrical water heating cost was around $8000, which has dropped to just $4600 on gas. So overall we are saving 43% a year on our shed hot water.

“Installation was quick and easy because the unit is self-contained and came ready to install between milking. Longveld’s team includes a certified gas fitter and electrician so there was no need for us to arrange that.

“They were professional and completed the work to very high standards. We just set the timer for vat and plant wash and it’s all done.”

Longveld’s dairy hot water system is compact, easy to use, reliable and cost-effective.
