Wang was charged last year by the Hong Kong Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) along with ex-chairman of Natural Dairy Jack Chen for the charges relating to the failed Crafar farms deal. They were due to appear in court two weeks ago.

Wang and Chen are now scheduled for appearance on January 7, 2013 for a preliminary inquiry in Eastern Magistracy before committal to the High Court for trial. The preliminary inquiry is expected to last for 16 days.

If convicted the pair could face sentences of up to 14 years in jail.

Meantime investigations in New Zealand have been completed, with authorities awaiting the outcome of Wang’s Hong Kong trial before deciding to lay charges against her in NZ.
