Stewart Ruddell of Bayleys Whangarei said the property has been in the same family for an extended time and the farm is in good heart.

“The dairy unit and runoff have been faithfully farmed with a good fertiliser history and proven production figures. It’s a walk-in and farm proposition and is in a sound position to produce well in the future.” Ruddell said.

“The property has also stood up well to the dry conditions so far and has fared better than many other properties in the Northland region.

“The generous runoff associated with this property is a definite bonus and buyers will appreciate the value of having a support block with good infrastructure close by. The runoff provides about 30ha of highly fertile soil for cropping with the balance for grazing on easy hill.”

The property is on target for a record 116,000kg milksolids for the 2013-14 season and is offered for sale as a going concern with 101,526 Fonterra shares. There is a good herd of cows available with the property.

Excellent limestone races provide easy access to well-fenced paddocks on both properties. The milking platform features a 40-bail rotary dairy, large three-bay implement shed, large concrete feedpad and other support buildings. Pasture consists of some rye and clover paddocks with the balance in a rye, clover and kikuyu mix.

“There is a proactive regrassing programme in place on the property. Water is treated from existing bores on the property and there is also a new bore hole in place which is capped off for future use if needed,” Ruddell said.

There are two three-bedroom homes on the milking platform with another three-bedroom home on the runoff which provides some flexibility around accommodation options for management and staff.

“This is a complete dairying package in a well-regarded farming area,” Ruddell said. Tenders close on April 17 with Bayleys Whangarei.
