In the past three years Aorangi Farm has had an average production of 148,400kgmilksolids (MS) and is on target to produce more than 150,000kg MS this season. It will milk 380 cows during the peak.

The property would be well-suited to an investor, equity partnership or as a step-up for a dairy farming family, Lindsay Watts of Bayleys Wairarapa said. It is for sale by negotiation with offers closing on December 3.

The contour of the land is flat with a Y-shaped race system and the soil type is Ahikouka silt loam – highly sought-after for its natural fertility.

Water is pumped from the nearby Ruamahunga River, with the property having water consent to take up to 583,200m3 a year at 3888m3 a day at a maximum pumping rate of 45 litres a second. A bore on the north eastern corner of the property supplies water to all the paddocks, dairy and two houses.

The property also offers sought-after lifestyle opportunities with access to fishing, swimming, and waterskiing on the Ruamahunga.

Buildings on the property include two homes – a main four-bedroom home with a sleep-out and landscaped garden and a second home with two bedrooms – and several sheds.

It can be viewed at www.bayleys.co.nz.
