R2 steers in particular were well sought-after, and good beef and beef-Friesian lines sold on a firm to lifting market. Herefords were a standout, with 48 selling for $1185-$1350, $3.02-$3.10/kg, while Angus made $2.94-$3.04/kg. Hereford-Friesians weren’t not far off the pace either, earning $2.92-$3.01/kg, Friesian $970-$1230, $2.40-$2.55/kg.

The R2 heifer market was more subdued and sold below expectations, though vendors would still be happy with the results. Again Hereford stood out, making $1100-1180, $2.69-$2.79/kg, though most of the better lines earned $2.60-$2.70/kg.

The R1 pens were a mix of quality beef and beef-cross lines alongside dairy-cross lines, though all found homes for solid values. Hereford-Friesian steers sold for $395-$580, Friesian $440-$480. Friesian bulls made $500-$590, heavier Hereford-Friesian $730-$740. Angus-Hereford heifers fetched $475-$640. Hereford-Friesian were offered in small lines and mainly sold for $390-$650.
