The bulk of the offering was mixed-sex. Medium lines lifted the most and sold for $88-$95.50, with several lines fetching more than $90.

Prime lambs also sold on the strongest market seen all year. Top lambs earned $124-$134, good lambs $114-$123.

Prime ewes sold well, especially the lighter grazing ewes. Heavy mixed-age ewes returned $97-$100, good ewes $80-$89, lighter $50-$70.

A reasonable number of cattle were set for sale and the cow entry pushed numbers above last week. Good prime steers achieved $2.81-$2.85/kg while several less than 520kg eased back to $2.70-$2.75/kg.

Good beef prime heifers made $2.70-$2.75/kg with some to $2.84/kg, good Friesian heifers, 460-510kg, $2.40-$2.55/kg.

Prices remained generally steady on the heavy Friesian cows while lighter lines eased. Friesians, 516-578kg, sold for $1.67-$1.77/kg, lighter lines mostly $1.60-$1.70/kg. Two Angus export bulls, 548kg, sold well at $2.69/kg.
