Numbers were limited to just cows and heifers, and prices were solid for the few available. In-calf Friesian cows, 392kg, made $1.80/kg, while empty Friesians, 370-555kg, sold over a wider range at $1.20-$1.85/kg. Jerseys, 323-385kg, were steady at $1.29-$1.32/kg.

Friesian-cross heifers were the best sellers in their section, making $1.90/kg for 337kg, while slightly heavier Friesians made $1.78/kg. Jersey heifers, 300kg, fetched $1.40/kg.

The only beef cows on offer were Red Poll and, at 505-640kg, these earned $1.66-$2.05/kg.

Angus 2-year bull, 600kg, finished off the short sale, fetching $1668, $2.78/kg.
