Revamped reels ideal

Erecting temporary fencing to break-feed precious pasture is time-consuming and labour-intensive which is why Gallagher has made some recent improvements to its geared reels to ensure farmers can depend on a quality reel for strip grazing.

Gallagher’s onfarm research found that reels “bouncing off” farm vehicles during transportation or falling off a permanent fence are common issues for farmers.

The addition of the new transport lock solves this problem. The ruggedly constructed transport lock has an insulated swivel latch that closes across the loop of the main reel hook, preventing the reel from dislodging from the wire or bar it is hanging from.

In addition to the transport lock, the geared reel’s gearbox has been redesigned to make winding easier. Now a 3:1 ratio, improved material selection and design have created a much stronger and robust gearbox to cope with the rigours of regular use.

Combined with an impact-resistant wire guide to prevent tangling, a fully galvanised frame and high impact hub, this reel is made in New Zealand for NZ farmers.

The new Gallagher geared reels are available now at all Gallagher stockists and will also be on sale at National Fieldays.
