Matira Station is a well established 598ha trading-finishing unit in extremely good condition with potential to increase production or change use to cropping or dairying.

Its 90 paddocks sit on 200ha of gentle to easy rolling contour suitable for cropping, 260ha of medium rolling land and the rest steeper. The six titles with two long road frontages are 66km northwest of Hamilton and 115km from Auckland.

The property is currently used as an intensive fattening unit with a carrying capacity of about 6500 stock units, Independent Real Estate, Cambridge agent Bill Tunzelmann said.

Fencing is of a high standard and the internal race systems provide for easy stock processing.

A strong feature of the property is the water supply by two pumping systems from the Waikaretu Stream and large pond. There is also a “no fail” water ram system and a spring-fed supply all year round to five ponds with streams and spring-fed catchment areas throughout the farm.

Ten holding tanks provide gravity reticulation to troughs covering most of the farm. Annual rainfall is 1350-1400mm.

“This abundant natural water source would potentially allow, conditional on resource consent, three large dams for irrigation,” Tunzelmann said.

“With its excellent balance of contour and size this farm offers options including breeding, finishing, cropping maize and large scale dairy support with the added possibility of dairy conversion.”

Farm infrastructure includes three implement sheds, a hay barn, an air strip, a fertiliser bin and two woolsheds with covered yards.

There are two sets of cattle yards with weighing platforms and excellent crush and handling facilities, and two quarries.

There is a three-bedroom main dwelling with double garage and an Econobarn dwelling with two bedrooms.

The farm is for sale by tender closing at 4pm on November 7, unless sold before.

The vendors are open to negotiate settlement date and terms and will consider selling as a going concern with plant and equipment at valuation.
