Considering the time of year it was a good yarding with a number of forward store heifers offered, which gave buyers a two-way option.

Prime steers mostly earned $2.81-$2.92/kg, prime and R3 heifers $2.60-$2.75/kg.

Not many R2 steers were offered but Hereford-Friesian, 396kg, sold for $2.90/kg, medium steers, 294-300kg, $3.03-$3.07/kg. Good R2 heifers earned $2.60-$2.75/kg though several were dairy-cross and were priced accordingly.

There weren’t many bulls but a feature line of Friesian weaners, 242kg, sold well at $810, $3.35/kg.

Boner cows were steady to firm, with $1.80-$1.95/kg common for Friesians 400kg-plus.

A moderate yarding of sheep met with a good number of buyers. More than 200 store lambs were offered. Heavy lambs returned $77, medium $73, lighter $65.

Some of the prime lambs were more forward store, but heavy lambs earned $119, medium $87, lighter $83.50.

Most of the ewes were light with prices $59-$71.
