O’Shea, a chartered accountant, and her brother Shayne were the supreme winners of the Northland award last year. She is this year’s dairy woman of the year.
Wills is Federated Farmers’ president. The Hawke’s Bay sheep and beef farmer, a former banker, is a long-time champion of environmental sustainability.
The judging panel is chaired by Simon Saunders who is also deputy chairman of the Farm Environment Trust. Other members are national judging co-ordinator Jamie Strang, Ballance Agri-Nutrients research and environment head Warwick Catto and Rabobank regional manager Paul Lamont.
The winner of the Gordon Stephenson Trophy will be chosen from among 10 regional supreme winners and will be announced at a National Sustainability Showcase in Christchurch on June 26.
