Bigger cattle sold on a subdued market and though the quality lines still met good demand, crossbred and lesser types were harder to move. Two-year steers were mainly Hereford-cross and Angus-cross, with the top end making $2.60-$2.70/kg, younger autumn-born lines $2.90-$3.10/kg. A small offering of 2-year bulls were Friesian and Friesian-cross and sold for $2.60-$2.70/kg, with prices dropping to $2.40-$2.50/kg for the lesser lines. Heifers met steady demand for the beef-cross lines offered, returning $2.58-$2.65/kg.

The weaner section mainly consisted of beef-cross and exotic-cross, and steers earned $3.20-$3.55/kg, heifers $2.90-$3.10/kg. Lighter dairy-beef lines, 140-150kg, fetched $4-$5/kg.

Cow prices eased with the better types earning $1.80-$1.90/kg, medium $1.70-$1.80/kg.
