Great value option in Waikato

A 152ha dairy farm for sale near Te Aroha that milks around 750 cows on a split-calving regime has value written all over it.
Reading Time: 1 minute

The entire Waikato farm is flat, ensuring easy management, and sits on naturally fertile loams and sandy loam soils, with a good race system connecting the 60 paddocks to the 44-aside dairy at the centre of the property.
Mike Fraser-Jones from Bayleys in Hamilton describes it as a very well-appointed property in a great location and says money has been well spent on it.
“A large investment has been made in the infrastructure on this unit which is in two blocks either side of a quiet road with an underpass connecting them close to the dairy.”
Two concrete feedpads that cater for 600 cows in total sit next to the dairy and have a Reid and Harrison solid separation system at one end of the pads. Green water is used to wash the feedpads, with effluent going into a holding pond that has pumps and stirrer linked into the irrigation system.
Grey water and effluent from the dairy are pumped to the pond or directly onto the pasture by two Ecostream travelling irrigators to about 60ha through underground piping and hydrants.
The farm’s water system comprises three interlinked filtered bores, with water pumped through 40mm main lines, then 32mm alkathene and 25mm laterals to the numerous troughs. This system has catered for 1050 cows in the past and Variation 6 is granted for 1100 cows.
Ample storage facilities exist for machinery and feed, and large calf-rearing sheds, with some facilities handy to the dairy and others spread around the property.
Four homes all have three bedrooms, including a four-year-old house and older homes in good condition. The vendor is retaining a fifth home and 8ha, including 6ha that could be leased back to the farm.
The farm will be auctioned on December 17 and can be viewed at www.bayleys.co.nz/810801.
