At just 210-303kg, they really were lightweights. The best of the bunch were Friesian-cross, 261-303kg, which sold for $1.72-$1.82/kg, while other lines made $1.33-$1.60/kg. Friesian cows, 468-521kg, earned $1.62-$1.73/kg.

Store cattle sold on a mainly steady market with R2 Hereford-Friesian and Angus-Hereford steers fetching $2.83-$2.90/kg. Charolais-cross heifers were a standout in their section, selling for $2.55-$2.61/kg, putting more than $1000 on their heads.

Weaner cattle were offered in small lines and steer prices were strong for the better types. Lighter lines cracked $4/kg with Angus-Hereford, 137-166kg, at $560-$665. Hereford-cross, 196-204kg, returned $565-$715. Friesian bulls, 121-146kg, sold for $425-$482, while Hereford-Friesian heifers made $482-$625, with two top lines over 200kg up to $802-$805. Also impressing in the heifer pens were Charolais-cross, 186-205kg, which sold for $655-$685.
