The second dairy-beef calf sale on Thursday was well attended by both calves and buyers, with 1900 calves on offer.

Most were Friesian bulls, with the majority selling for $385-$500, while a mixed quality yarding of Hereford-Friesian made $420-$590. Hereford-Friesian and Hereford-cross made up the bulk of the heifer section, and top lines sold to $520-$540, though the majority realised $400-$460. Autumn-born, 121-156kg, sold for $515-$615
