Frankton prime and store sheep sale April 12

Schedule prices still haven’t budged and while quality beef steers sold on a firm market at Frankton on Tuesday, the remainder of the yarding was steady to slightly easier.

Hereford and Angus steers sold to $2.60-$2.74/kg, while Angus-Friesian was steady at $2.59-$2.65/kg. Heifers, however, eased with prices more in step with schedule. Angus-Hereford and Angus-cross earned $2.48-$2.53/kg. Prime cows were limited to dairy lines and prices were steady with all trading between $1.59 and $1.79/kg.

Results were mixed in the sheep pens, where only prime and store lambs were offered. Light to medium prime lambs sold on a steady market at $80-$93, while the heavier end eased to $95-$106. Store lambs were mainly steady at $55-$74.
