Just over 100 cows, including a few in-calf, were entered with prices firm to lifting on low numbers. Medium weight Angus-Hereford managed $1.95/kg and a heavier line $1.90/kg, though most were dairy-cross at $1.70-$1.80/kg.

The heifers were mainly dairy-cross and sold on a steady market. Hereford-Friesian, 540kg, made $2.70/kg and the heaviest Friesians, 470kg, earned $2.39/kg.

Only one steer and a few bulls were offered. Jersey bulls, 480-530kg, sold for $2.46-$2.47/kg.

Prime lamb numbers doubled after last week’s firm sale. Only one main buyer was operating and had little competition on the heavy lambs, which eased slightly. All prime lambs earned $92-$123.

The prime ewe offering was small and the market steady to firm. They sold to the usual buyers with good ewes earning $74-$79.50, medium $54-$73, light $41-$53.
