Increasing market demand for its unique in-line sensors and dairy automation package has led Dairy Automation (DAL) to invest heavily in growing its sales force, with new appointments in both the North and South Islands.

The company has also been acquired by LIC.

Mike Milburn, based in Masterton, joined DAL in March and assumed responsibility for the lower North Island.

Mike brings with him a wealth of dairy industry experience, having worked for DeLaval for four years as a milk quality specialist and having milked cows on and off for eight years.

Mike has also worked in the IT industry and has a solid understanding of the technology space. This complements his affinity for and keen interest in the dairy industry, which has led him recently to take on the voluntary role of Dairy NZ farmer discussion group convenor in the Masterton area, where he relishes mixing with and getting to know the farmers of the region.

DAL’s new upper South Island sales manager is Ross Soper who joined DAL’s ranks after having worked for Westfalia-Surge and then Milfos/GEA in the region.

Ross has a long affiliation with the dairy industry dating back to the days when he worked alongside his dad who owned and operated a milking machine dealership in Nelson, and is no stranger to DAL’s range of products or to dairy technology and equipment in general.

Rounding off and leading the team is DAL’s latest recruit, Cedric Geffen, who assumes the role of sales and marketing general manager.

Cedric draws on a deep understanding of and a wealth of NZ and International dairy industry experience, having in the past, served as sales and marketing manager for Waikato Milking Systems, business development manager at Innovation Waikato and more recently having consulted to a number of dairy industry companies including SCR and others.
