May 7-8 – DairyNZ Farmers’ Forum at the Mystery Creek Events Centre, Hamilton.

This year the focus is on being competitive and sustainable in a changing world, with insights from some of NZ’s leading business and industry leaders including Fonterra chairman John Wilson, ANZ chief economist Cameron Bagrie and Reserve Bank governor Graeme Wheeler. Attendees can also select from 12 workshops and cast their levy vote onsite. May 9 – The New Zealand Dairy Industry Awards dinner and anniversary ball at the Sky City Convention Centre. Tickets are available online at www.dairyindustryawards.co.nz at a cost of $195 per person.

May 31 – Deadline for voting on DairyNZ’s levy. See pages 34, 36.

June

June 11-14 – National Fieldays, Mystery Creek, Hamilton. Entries are open for the agricultural innovation competition. For information on the competition and the field days visit www.fieldays.co.nz.

June 23-25 – This year’s South Island Dairy Event (SIDE) themed Riding the Wave – keeping your balance in volatile times will be held in Invercargill. Keynote speakers include Fonterra chief executive Theo Spierings and BEL Group chief executive and 2013 New Zealand Dairy Woman of the Year Justine Kidd. Programme available at www.side.org.nz.
