Store lambs were the main feature at Charlton on Thursday and prices remained steady, Greg Clearwater from PGG Wrightson reported.

Good quality store lambs sold to strong demand with prices mainly steady. Top lines sold to $73, with medium types making $55-$63, and lighter lines $43-$48. The prime market was also steady with lambs making $75-$95, while heavy ewes earned $77, medium $56-$62, and light $40. Rams sold for $25-$60.

Empty dairy heifers made up the store cattle section of the sale, with 380kg lines fetching $2.09/kg, and 270-315kg dairy and crossbred $1.70/kg.
