The 188ha and 62ha blocks on Te Wera Rd both have about 20ha of rolling country that Chris Meban from Rotorua First National said was suitable for cropping or supplements if a dairy farmer used them as dairy support.
In the past they have grazed dairy stock with haylage cut from the easy country and crops sown for summer and winter feed.
“It’s a dairy area so a few smaller dairy farmers could get together and bring young stock onto it. Taupo ash is reasonably fertile soil and with fertiliser it grows grass well,” Meban said.
The properties can be bought as one or two blocks with Meban describing the 188ha block as genuine hill country grazing 12-14su/ha.
“It’s sheep and beef at the moment but has wintered dairy grazers in the past and a big chunk of it is suitable for running young stock.”
This block also has a substantial four-bedroom home with landscaped gardens along with a hay barn, implement shed, woolshed and stock yards.
The smaller, easier-contoured block has been carrying 14-16su/ha and is split into 20 paddocks with a set of sheep yards at the rear.
Both blocks are being sold by tender that closes on November 14. For more information call Meban on 07 349 8080 or 027 484 4574.
