SAM fertiliser and combo spreaders are reliable and built to last.

Coombridge and Alexander have developed the spreaders from more than 65 years’ experience designing and manufacturing agricultural machinery for New Zealand conditions.

They are now available in single or tandem axle models with capacities of 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9 tonnes of superphosphate.

SAM spreaders come in 400mm or 800mm floor-belt widths. The 800mm floor-belt Combo model is suitable for spreading both chemical and organic fertilisers.

Designed for ease of operation and maintenance with a strong, long-lasting construction SAM spreaders have been regularly tested to ensure accuracy by Agcal NZ. The 2.9m polyethylene plastic bins have proven to be an extremely reliable material – strong, corrosion resistant and UV-stabilised. The patterned two-ply rubber floor-belt is riveted to hot dip galvanised steel bars that are welded to high-tensile chain.

The floor-belt provides a positive non-slip feed of fertiliser on to the twin hydraulically-driven 600mm spinner discs, providing an extremely even spread pattern across a range of products.

Accessories can be added including roll-top covers, remote axle greasing, LED lights and flags, brakes, swivel couplings and larger wheels.

An increasingly popular option is the addition of load cells and displays to monitor application rates and computer hydraulic drives.

A new accessory available for the 800mm Combo spreader is a material agitator that can be lowered near the floor-belt, stirring and agitating organic material, allowing it to drop on to the spinner discs in a uniform manner.

Coombridge and Alexander offers a comprehensive parts and service facility covering the full range of its machines (SAM fertiliser spreaders, Combo spreaders, feed wagons and hydraulic trailers).

The team is also readily available for diagnostic and technical support and sales inquiries.
