Awaroa – where quality counts

Awaroa Station is a farm ready for dairy conversion.
Reading Time: 2 minutes

It is of a very high standard and comes to the market in extremely good condition, LJ Hooker Hamilton rural sales manager Bill Tunzelmann said.

“Awaroa Station would be without doubt one of the better properties in the Waikato and is in great condition with very strong pastures.”

The property has 11 titles and the contour would support a substantial dairy conversion, with neighbouring properties in dairying.

It has a good mix of alluvial flats and an easy rolling contour, with some areas of medium rolling.

“With the main option to convert a good portion into dairy with the balance capable of being suitable for dairy support or beef, it is a property that would not be difficult to convert and really needs to be considered.

“At $15,000 a hectare this is very good buying,” Tunzelmann said.

A strong feature is the water supply available, with consent to take a maximum daily volume of 140 cubic metres for wash-down, milk cooling, and stock watering, with the daily volume to be metered, along with a natural water source on some of the property.

It has 619 hectares of very good sheep and cattle finishing country about 68km northwest of Hamilton and 110km south of Auckland.

The station has a carrying capacity of 7500 stock units. Fencing is of a very high standard with seven- and eight-wire batten conventional throughout, and is subdivided into about 60 paddocks with a good portion serviced by reticulated water.

Farm infrastructure consists of a very good four-stand woolshed with covered yards, along with large outside yards, a very well laid-out facility, four-bay implement shed with lockable workshop, and additional sheds including additional yards at the roadside and satellite yards on the flats at the back of Awaroa.

The property has three dwellings, one a Lockwood home and the others weatherboard dwellings. All are elevated, overlooking much of the station and are very handy to the woolshed and outbuildings.

It is on the market for $9,300,000 plus GST (if any).
