Green Hill Valley at Raukawa has been used as a sheep and beef finishing unit, carrying about 300 cattle on soils that are a combination of strong peat and silt loam. About 75ha spreads over the productive peat flats, with the remainder on the rolling hills.

Mike Heard from Colliers says the productive, easy land makes it ideal as a dairy support unit to carry young stock through the year and produce a range of crops.

“It’s easy, croppable country, so you could produce all sorts of supplementary feed crops as well as running young stock.”

The Awanui Stream forms the boundary on the southern side of the flats and provides an abundant supply of water, with a dam in the hill paddock providing further stock water. The property has a half-share ownership in stock-handling facilities on the boundary that include timber cattle yards with drenching race and holding-drafting yards.

Tenders for the farm close on November 3. The farm can be viewed at www.colliers.co.nz ID 52986. For further information contact Hadley Brown on 027 442 3539 or Mike Heard on  027 641 9007.
