Temuka sale July 21

Winter mode has set in at Temuka and just 248 store cattle were offered on Thursday, with most lines having dairy influence.

Quality lines were hot property. R1 Hereford-Friesian heifers sold for $730-$800, with the tops cracking $3/kg, though a lighter line sold to $3.52/kg. Friesian-cross from one property sold for $275-$415, but the lesser types traded well under $1/kg. 

Two properties offered up decent numbers of R2 Friesian heifers and this market was solid enough. Top lines sold for $1000-$1080, $2.33-$2.42/kg, with 404-406kg lines earning $2.26-$2.29/kg. Beef R3 and R2 heifers traded at $2.81-$2.94/kg, while R1 Hereford-Friesian steers sold for $760-$910.
