Stortford Lodge sale July 25

Avatar photo
The prime cattle sale at Stortford Lodge on Monday certainly illustrated a lack of available numbers, with not one cattle beast turning up for sale, probably a first-time occurrence.

Those cattle that had been entered were withdrawn earlier that morning.

The sheep sale was moderate and the market steady. Very good ewes sold particularly well at $88.50-$98, though most were mediums that sold steadily at $69-$82.50.

A reasonable yarding of lambs sold on a generally steady market. Most were ewe lambs. The top line returned $135, while a good number of forward store fetched $99.50-105. A line of 133 ram lambs earned $130 but top price went to a small pen of males at $138.
