Rangiuru sale October 25

Hereford-Friesian and Angus-Friesian 2-year steers made $2.75-$2.85/kg, Friesian, 447-507kg, $2.58-$2.66/kg. Line sizes were small in the heifer pens, but the better types earned $2.79-$2.88/kg, Friesian, 355-395kg, $2.20-$2.23/kg.

A small yarding of 1-year steers sold on a mixed market with Hereford-Friesian the highlight, fetching $870-$1050. Hereford-cross heifers, 286-315kg, returned $800-$910, Friesian bulls, 235-251kg, $665-$775.

Sheep numbers were very low at a total of 52. New season store lambs made $66, prime hoggets $102-$120, ewes, $64-$69.
