A moderate yarding of 450 head was harder to move, although top lines still made market value. Good beef-cross and exotic 2-year steers sold to $3/kg, and medium lines eased to $2.80-$2.85/kg. Friesian and Friesian-cross returned $2.65/kg. Low numbers of bulls mainly traded at $2.60-$2.70/kg, but a standout line of 18-month Simmental, 380kg, sold for $1178, $3.10/kg. Beef-cross heifers sold on a softer market at $2.65-$2.80/kg.

Quality 1-year cattle sold to recent levels but lesser types struggled. Steer numbers were low. Angus made $3.78/kg, medium types $3.30-$3.50/kg. Top Friesian bulls returned $3.10/kg, lighter types back to $2.60-$2.65/kg, with interest very limited. Heifers were mostly beef-cross, exotic and Hereford, and sold for $2.90-$3.20/kg. Friesian bull calves, 100kg, traded at $480-$520.

An advertised consignment of Angus cows with calves-at-foot were a highlight, with the top 29 making $1590 per unit, the next line $1460. Dry Angus cows sold for $2.18/kg, beef-cross and Friesian-cross $2-$2.10/kg. Medium Friesian lines made $1.80-$1.90/kg.
