Firm prices reflected an increase in demand for lighter heifers. Buyers from all over the North Island were in attendance and active, and 150-200kg Angus and Angus-Hereford lines sold for $550-$695.

The heavier end of the exotic heifer section was the cheapest on a cpk basis, with 264-275kg selling for $3.02-$3.07/kg, though rates climbed steadily as the weights dropped. Charolais-cross, 174-219kg, sold for $590-$760, $3.38-3.47/kg.
