Male lambs were largely $75.50-$90, while most ewe lambs made $65-$85. The top line of cryptorchid lambs were significantly better than the rest and sold for $96.50.
A small number of run-with-ram ewes were offered. A good line of Romney 6-year ewes earned $98 and a light line, $61.
A good number of store cattle were offered. Quality R3 steers sold to firm demand, with a stand-out line of Speckle Park at 607kg that returned $1745, $2.87/kg, and a line of Charolais-cross, 637kg, $1805, $2.83/kg. Most R3 steers traded at $2.80-$2.90/kg.
The R2 steers weren’t as appealing with prices steady to easing. Forty Angus, 406-499kg, realised $1200-$1435, $2.88-$2.96/kg, South Devon-cross, 415kg, $3.14/kg. Several lines, 350-400kg, made $2.90-$3/kg.
Bull prices slightly lifted with just enough offered. Friesian R2 bulls, 446-461kg, earned $2.80-$2.83/kg, 338-364kg $2.97-$3.01/kg.
About 450 R2 heifers sold on a firm market, apart from the dairy-cross types that struggled. A few weaners finished the sale, with Friesian bulls mainly steady.
