Most of the store lambs were mixed-sex lines with the majority $75-$86. The heavier lambs firmed the most.

A moderate yarding of almost 1200 prime lambs met strong demand, with prices lifting about $5/head across the board. Heavy lambs traded for $120-$127, good $110-$118, medium $96-$106, lighter $75-$90.

Fewer than 400 prime ewes were offered and values lifted slightly. Some very heavy ewes earned $105-$108, good ewes $85-$97. Medium ewes made $70-$80, light to medium types $50-$66.

The prime cattle market was firm to lifting across the board. Prime steers lifted 5-8cpk, with heavy, high-yielding steers fetching $2.80-$2.90/kg. Lighter but good condition, quality primes were fetching similar money, while plainer, cross-bred types were making $2.60-$2.70/kg.

The heifer market took a good lift of about 10cpk, with good condition heifers, 420-480kg, earning $2.70-$2.73/kg. Export weight heifers, 500kg-plus, made $2.80-$2.90/kg.

Cows also lifted, with heavy beef sorts $1.80-$1.90/kg, mediums $1.60-$1.70/kg. Bulls improved, and there was good competition on those 370-480kg, with prices $2.30-$2.40/kg, while those 600-800kg earned $2.57-$2.69/kg.

Store cattle were again offered and quality varied. Good traditional steers, 380-450kg, were sought-after and earned $2.90-$3/kg, while good traditional heifers were about $2.70/kg. Lighter and off-types were a lot harder going.
